Electric Skateboard Troubleshooting: Low Range

Though skateboarding is an awesome and exciting experience, you may come across some issues while using the skateboard. In particular, the electric skateboard involves lots of electronic components, which makes it hard to determine the parts that go wrong. Here are some frequent issues and solutions for you to figure out what’s going on and fix the problem and ride again.

Low Range

1. Drift in the calibration of your battery meter

Solution: Fully charge the battery and then completely discharge the battery three times. The easiest way to discharge the battery is to flip the board over and tape the remote on full throttle. Run it down until the wheels no longer spin.

2. The battery level of the skateboard is inadequate

Solution: Recharge the skateboard and ride again.

3. Overload

Solution: The maximum load is 100kg but it’s suggested to control the load within 85kg. The greater the rider’s weight, the greater the loss of battery life and other performance of the skateboard.

4. Skateboarding habits

Solution: The rider’s riding habits will also affect the range. The range is different between continuous high-speed sliding and inertial sliding after speeding up. 

5. Pavement condition

Solution: Sandy or pebbled pavement will reduce the range. It’s recommended to ride on flat grounds.

6. The weather

Solution: Wind, heat and rain can weaken the performance of the board. It'll be lovely to ride in a mild weather.
